BRIEF OVERVIEW

The current Health Fund Contribution rate is $6.90 per hour

Employer Contributions start at 400 hours worked under the contract – New Hires

Former participants being out of the Fund for more than (1) year are treated as New Hires (Contributions begin upon reaching 400/hours)

Any necessary premium increases to the Fund are deducted from the negotiated wages

 

 

*INITIAL ELIGIBILITY -

400 Contract Hours in a consecutive 4/month period - for New Hires

– Insurance first of 6th month

MAINTAIN ELIGIBILITY

600 Hours in every consecutive 6/month period and/or

1200 Hours in every consecutive 12/month period

If fall below both hourly requirements (600 and 1200) will receive a self-payment for lesser amount of hours, at the current rate of $4..25/hour

 

 

REINSTATEMENT

300 Hours in a consecutive 3/month period

- Insurance first of 5th month

- Must then maintain eligibility as described above

*LOSS OF TIME – Benefits Paid to those eligible for Health Fund Benefits – as

designated in the plan at the rate of $45.00 per day.

Off 20 Days in a calendar month – receive 100/hrs. for each such month from the Health Fund to help maintain Eligibility .

Off 20 Days in a calendar month – Dues are given by the Union.

 

 

*WORKERS COMPENSATION -

Off 20 days in calendar month – Currently eligible for Health Benefits

Receive 100/hours for each such month to help maintain eligibility

Receive reduced Dues from the Union – Per Capita Tax Only.

 

 

*JURY DUTY –

Currently eligible for Health Fund Benefits – will compensate juror for wages

For days served after considering the amount paid by the court.

 

 

*BURIAL BENEFIT

Active Health Fund Members – currently eligible for Health Fund Benefits –

Receive $5,000.00 From the Health Fund

Retired Health Fund Participants – receive $1,500.00 from the Health Fund

 

 

*RETIREE BENEFIT –

Retirees may continue Health Fund Insurance with 30% of the premium covered

By the Fund – Once become Medicare eligible premiums are reduced.

 

 

*MANAGEMENT PARTICIPATION –

Non-Bargained Employee Plan Provisions - offered to signatory contractors

All Non-Bargained employees, working at least 25/hours per week for

the company must participate

Payment is Full Premium Rate of the Group plus service charge

Participation is each full Fund Year

Retired Non-Bargained not eligible

Continuation of coverage offered for certain limited periods of time under

COBRA by paying full cost of the coverage

BUILDING TRADES UNITED PENSION FUND

MILWAUKEE AND VICINITY

 

The current contribution rate to this pension Fund is $4.42 per hour after the first 750 hours or one year whichever is later. All former participants of the Fund are paid on from the first hour worked. At the present contribution rate, a worker will receive upon regular retirement $87.20 per 1,000 hours worked, for life. In addition are a death benefit, early retirement benefits (loss of 1% each yr. Before "63", at "55"-92% benefit), and disability benefits.

 

 

NATIONAL ROOFING INDUSTRY PENSION PLAN

(NRIPP)

 

Racine and Kenosha Contractors were once part of a sister local that no longer exists, their employees have the entire $4.97 per hour going into this plan.  The NRIPP  nation wide plan that not only yields a good return but also allows mobility of roofers from outside the state who have been in this plan. 

For the Milwaukee area contractors the NRIPP is a supplemental plan. The current Milwaukee contribution rate for this plan is 50 cents an hour from the first hour worked.  

 

OTHER PLANS

At this time Local 65 is exploring an annuity plan or voluntary 401K to service members who wish to shelter additional funds for retirement.

Some of our contractors offer a voluntary 401K of their own.
